Events / Activities | 2007 Events / Activities | 2006 Events / Activities More than 500 members, associates and invited guests attended the 12th MGA’s Annual Dinner. This prime social get-together event for the Association was also honoured with the presence of YBhg Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, the Patron and Advisor of MGA and YBhg Puan Sri Datin Sri Noraini Mohd Yusof. The theme for this year’s dinner “Together Powering Growth for the Nation” depicts the prominent role played by MGA in contributing to the growth and development of the gas industry. The evening kicked off with the dazzling opening gambit of belly dancing followed by a 4-minute montage. MGA’s President, Datuk Abdul Rahim Hashim, in his welcoming speech, extended the Council’s appreciation for the support and contribution by members and friends to make this event a success. The President also draws attention to the growing prominent role of MGA in the International Gas Union (IGU) with the helm of the Vice Presidency in the 2006-2009 triennium and in the preparation to lead the IGU Presidency in the 2009-2012 triennium. This would culminate in the hosting of the 25th World Gas Conference and Exhibition in 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, the biggest world gas international event which would attract more than 5,000 participants and visitors. Dining to a menu of fine oriental cuisine, MGA members and guests settled to a most delightful evening of refreshing and relaxing entertainment which was emceed by the versatile and chatty Sarimah Ibrahim. The dazzling belly dancers were indeed mesmerizing with their swirling charm and graceful movements. The duo of Alan and Indi took the crowd through a session of hilarious banter. The main show of the evening was put up by Sean Ghazi and Salamiah Hassan, crooning melodiously some of the popular down-the-memory lane songs. There were two lucky draws in between the show which saw lively interactions with the audience gamely answering questions posed by the emcee as YBhg Puan Sri Datin Sri Noraini Mohd Yusof and YBhg Datin Safiah Mohd Yusof gave away the prizes. All in everyone had had an enjoyable and delightful evening of camaraderie and entertainment coming together to celebrate MGA’s annual dinner. |
